brandx55 I heard this track last year on Progzilla and thought what a wonderful piece of music it was. Forgot to download it. Heard it again recently and decide to purchase it before my brain freezes again. Can't wait for the rest of the album.

Boris Stalf This is an awesome piece of music.

Reminds me a lot of Different Light, cause of the powerful, yet melodic sound and the fantastic clear vocals.

Should be on a complete album, preferably on Vinyl, cause the artwork is also fantastic and very fitting.

Great stuff 👏 Favorite track: The Mariner.

Alrihkh A grand performance worthy of avid accolades! The tags of similar music, beneath the horizontal ‘supported by’ scroll, are quite accurate. I would add Evership to that scroll, as well. An epic excursion that could still use a bit of spit and polish, which it definitely warrants; and which I’m eagerly looking forward to. Thank you, Pacifica, for throwing this out there. My interest was piqued by Peter Prog. 7+/10. Favorite track: The Mariner.

about

This is a track we have been working on for just over 4 years. Although this isn't the final version, it is a thoroughly developed demo. As such, we have decided to make it free/pay what you want.

Lyrics

I. Overture

II. The Mariner

In the waters of our time
Lived a man who travelled far
Alone he sailed across the world
Just to find his former life

He’s bound to an everlasting chain in history

His eyes are fixed upon this scene (a lonely island bay)
A chance to find his son again (To see who he's become)
For 30 years he disappeared
And left behind a broken man

Sailing, to find a life that's waiting on the shore

I am the mariner
Who falls into the wind
I spread my wings upon the world

I am the mariner
Who forges through the wake
I sail, forsaken on the sea

III. Into The Night

The ocean wind is all but gone
It blew away the man who sought his soul
And gentle waves caress the sand
The waters edge reflects a different man

So he stops and wonders why
Underneath the blackened sky

He looks upon the bay below
It's full of life but none that he would know
His tears fall, a steady stream
He cradles hope, but winter's just a dream

For the man who lost it all
Now he heads towards the light
And the heavens watch him fall
As he steps into the night

For the man who lost it all
Now the waters make their claim
And a father's desperate call
Seeks the man who lost his name

And the face beneath the waves
Sees the ocean's tainted light
As he slowly slips away
From a cruel and grievous life

He see’s the light

IV. Salvation

"Listen son, take my words and heed them well.
I've come a long way not to drag you from the sea.
It's too soon to hear the chiming of the bell.
Far too soon to be the last man of the quay.

I know I lost your faith some time ago,
But I can save you from this desperate life.
Please come home."

"I squandered years, wasted my days.
I lost the fight and became the ocean's slave.
I know you chose the path less travelled,
But now your worn and weary heart is battle scarred.
Won’t you please come home?"

V. The Storm (Instrumental)

VI. A New Beginning

And now that I am here
Beside you once again
I know your time has come

I’ll leave this life behind
Pursue my destiny
And change who I become

I tried to ignore the signs
That were scattered in my mind
But I couldn’t run away
Now my life unfolds again

Searching for a new beginning

Now I am the mariner
Who falls into the wind
I spread my wings upon the world

Now I am the mariner
Who forges through the wake
I sail, unbroken on the sea.
